Hi, I’m Derek, the owner of Robinwood Handyworks. I started this business with a simple goal: to help people take care of their homes and businesses with honesty, reliability, and top-notch workmanship. 

With over a decade in the construction industry and years of hands-on experience in repairs, maintenance, and project management, I take pride in delivering quality service that reflects my core values—doing the right thing, treating people fairly, and going above and beyond for my customers.

Higgins Lake has been a special place for me for over 30 years. In 2020, my wife, Molly, and I bought a home here, and in the summer of 2024, we made the leap to full-time "up north" living. We love raising our daughter, Emory, and preparing for the arrival of our second daughter, Islay, while our loyal dog, Dexter, keeps us on our toes. When I’m not working, you’ll find me boating and enjoying Higgins Lake, spending time with friends and family, playing disc golf, catching live music, traveling, or exploring all the beauty Michigan has to offer.
